The Ashokan Reservoir is one of NYC’s largest according to its surface area and volume. At full capacity, the reservoir can hold 122.9 billion US gallons of water, has a 255-square-mile drainage basin, and is over 180 feet deep at its deepest point, making it the city’s deepest reservoir.

Its two long walkways provide a panorama of the Catskill Mtns and the pristine Reservoir that serves as the drinking water for NYC. Great for bicycles, walkers and wheelchairs, the two paths are beautiful stretches of wide paved paths that curve for 3 miles along the Ashokan Reservoir.

Overlook Mountain is the southernmost peak of the Catskill Escarpment in the central Catskill Mountains near Woodstock, New York. Centerpiece of the 590-acre (240 ha) Overlook Mountain Wild Forest area of Catskill Park, the mountain is the site of one of the remaining five Catskill Mountain fire towers and the Overlook Mountain House, a hotel which was built at a higher elevation than any other in the range.

Cooper Lake

Cooper Lake

Cooper Lake, located near Lake Hill in the Town of Woodstock, is the largest natural lake in the Catskill Mountains.

Off Comeau Drive, there are acres of land available for the public to picnic, peruse, photograph, or otherwise make use of the outdoors. It is a family- and dog-friendly place outside the busy sidewalks of Main Street, almost behind Woodstock, and is very quiet, calm, and lovely.

Completely surrounded by beautiful mountains with panoramic views creating a picturesque setting, Kenneth L. Wilson Campground is located in north central Ulster County, 5 miles southwest of the village of Woodstock. The campsites are secluded, large, and wooded.

Guest Reviews

Sled Hill #1 – great location, a few minutes walk from town center. The place was clean and organized and included everything we needed. The host Judy and her manger Roger were extremely nice and helpful.

Moshe

Judy’s home was perfect.  It’s a good amount of space, super clean and newly renovated, yet still charming and rustic. The location is great, around the corner from the main street, and she gave lots of recommendations for things to do. We were able to do some exploring and even enjoyed the rainy days during our stay because the house was so comfy. Great linens, mattresses, heat and hot water with a well appointed kitchen with most of what you’ll need. Overall, we had a terrific stay and are excited to return!

Timothy

The space was great and the location to town couldn’t be beat. Everything we needed was within walking distance. We really enjoyed the outdoor fire fit as well. Roger greeted us, asked us about our plans for the weekend, and recommended some great hiking spots for us to try and places to eat. Overall a perfect place for a little getaway.

Jaclyn

Great location if you are looking to stay close to downtown. Very comfortable bed. Hostess was very responsive and thoughtful.

Annalisa

We had a great month at this great location. The host was always available for anything we needed. Highly recommend this apartment for anyone wanted to get away from it all in the Catskills but also be in the heart of Woodstock.
Brian

My stay was a little slice of heaven and refuge from NYC. Judy went above and beyond to make sure I was welcomed and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Vibe is very cozy and is very close to Main Street so if you’re looking for a convenient location to explore Woodstock this is a great place.
